Full research profile

Research and Teaching

I am the new DAAD-Lektorin (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst/ German Academic Exchange Service) at the Department of German.

I am from Regensburg, a lovely city in Bavaria. The medieval city centre has not only been on the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites since 2006, but the University of Regensburg was also placed among the best universities with regard to the cultural and social integration process for students. So come around for a chat, I’m happy to tell you about life there.

I’ve got two German teaching degrees for secondary education. My majors are English Studies, History and German as a Foreign Language. In my master thesis in English linguistics I focused on Australian English, specifically on its origin and status.

In St Andrews my teaching will focus on first and second year language courses.

My research interests lie within the field of foreign and second language acquisition and teaching and I also focus on gender and queer studies in English literature.
