A warm welcome to the School of Modern Languages Alumni webpages. As a former student of the School myself (1980-1984) I understand the special lifelong connection that we all feel with the University, but perhaps most especially with the academic departments we studied in. I hope that whether you completed your degree here in St Andrews five years or five decades ago, you will find much on the site to interest you, reconnect you with your former classmates, and keep you up-to-date with the current activities of the School.

In the Careers section, you can read about where life has taken your fellow alumni, and can offer your invaluable expertise to those students who are currently getting to grips with the world of work. In Sharing Memories, you can indulge your nostalgia for the University and town of years past, while the Giving to Modern Languages section is where you can offer your financial support to a new generation of scholars.

Finally, I would like to draw your attention to the pictures and report from our Modern Languages alumni reunion on 25th June 2011. This event was attended by more than one hundred alumni, current and retired staff. This is something we will definitely repeat in a few years. In the meantime, please make sure that your (email) address is registered with us and contact details remain up to date using the link on the right hand side of this page. We can only invite you to a reunion if we know how to get in touch with you!
