Teaching

I joined the School of Modern Languages in August 2016 where I am Language Programme Coordinator for the Italian Department. Prior to coming to St Andrews I taught at Cardiff University, Oxford University, and at the University of Hull.

I teach on all language modules and I oversee and coordinate the delivery of Italian language teaching. Since joining the School of Modern Languages I have held several administrative positions including School Year Abroad Coordinator. I have also been Adviser of Study.

At Saint Andrews I am involved in several outreach activities, public engagement events, and access and participation workshops. In 2016 I started with a team of colleagues from the University of Dundee and the University of Strathclyde a Cross-Sector Annual Conference on Language Teaching and Learning.

My teaching interests are concerned with translation, interpreting, and stylistics. My research areas include Enquiry-Based approaches to learning, process-driven assessment, second language learner identity, and motivation.

Throughout my teaching career I have focused on training and development in order to remain at the forefront of innovation and methodological approaches in language teaching and deliver an outstanding student experience. My commitment to innovation and enhancement of the student learning experience is of paramount importance in my approach to learning and teaching.

I am a professional translator from English into Italian specialising in academic and literary texts.
