Biography

Jeff Hyman has occupied full-time academic positions at Strathclyde University and as Professor of Management at the University of Aberdeen, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Employee Relations.

Recent publications include:

Jeff is a member of the Organisations and Society thematic research group and has been a regular contributor to taught postgraduate teaching in the School of Management, including MN5481 Masterclasses in Human Resource Management.

Research areas

Jeff's main research and teaching interests over the past 40 years have been:

  • employee participation and industrial democracy
  • work-life balance
  • future of work
  • HRM.

More recently, these topics have been complemented by examining industrial relations and the green agenda, sustainability and just transitions along with some critical reflections on corporate governance.
