Debt discussion for budget day

Dr Philip Roscoe, Reader in Management, participated in a BBC Radio 3 discussion 'Debt – from the South Sea Bubble to Sunak'. The programme, broadcast at 10pm on 14 March 2023 – the night before budget day in the UK – explored the economics, morals and narratives of debt.

Presenter Anne McElvoy hosted a high-profile panel. Alongside Dr Roscoe, contributors to the programme were:

  • Professor Kenneth Rogoff, Maurits C. Boas Chair of International Economics at Harvard University
  • Vicky Pryce, former Joint Head of the United Kingdom's Government Economic Service
  • Dr Dafydd Mills Daniel, Lecturer in Divinity at the University of St Andrews.
