Research and enquiries
If you’re a school teacher or pupil, you could have the chance to get your hands on the original sources from which history is written! The opportunity to experience the challenge of using original materials themselves can be inspirational.
We have tried to match our resources to the National Curriculum and have produced classroom sessions that build on the knowledge learned by the children in their project work.
We have worked with local primary schools to study the Scottish Wars of Independence, handwriting in the time of Mary, Queen of Scots, and life in St Andrews during World War 2.
Here’s what some of the children said after one session:
……”The old stuff was really cool”
……”I learned a lot”
And here’s what the teachers thought:
…….”Thank you so much for giving your time to come out and speak to the Primary 5-7 children. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed your presentation and were full of wonderful facts the next day. I am sure your input will have benefited their learning no end.”
We encourage senior pupils to visit us to learn research skills and to use our resources in their project work.
