Research Enquiries

We are regularly asked to undertake research on the collections on behalf of enquirers who are unable to come to St Andrews in person. If you require assistance with research you can contact us either by post or email, at the address below, or by completing the online enquiry form below.

The Library is pleased to answer routine enquiries and offer advice about sources. If your enquiry requires detailed research, we will advise you to visit us, or suggest that you employ a professional researcher.

If you're conducting family history research and wish to come to St Andrews, our section on genealogy will tell you whether we have any relevant material.

At present there are no research or access charges, however in time, we hope to be able to develop a research service based on a standard fee basis.

For further information relating to paid research, please contact the Head of Special Collections.
