Von Hugel Collection

Images of the Von Hugel Collection

‌The library of Baron Friedrich von Hügel (1852-1925), Hon. LLD St Andrews 1921, philosopher of religion was bequeathed to St Andrews and received in 1926. It contains around 5000 volumes and represents a working library of mainly 19th and 20th century works on philosophy, religion and history, related especially to mysticism and the Catholic Modernist Movement, and has occasional pencilled annotations in von Hügel's hand.
