Professor of Music at St Andrews University, 1946 to 1978, and well-known composer. The collection comprises his own collection of autograph scores, sketches, libretti, edited works and correspondence, and some other personal material, including a substantial amount of correspondence from Gerald Finzi and Howard Ferguson.
