Current Staff

All categories of University of St Andrews staff, except for casual/ bank workers, are automatically made members of the University Library. You do not need to register separately at the Main Library.
Your University ID card, which you should receive soon after joining the University, has your Library borrower barcode on the reverse, and also acts as your Library borrower card.

Lost or damaged cards should be reported to IT Services, either by phone (ext.2532) or by email (idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk).

Retired staff

The University offers retired staff the option to maintain a University ID card, valid initially for six years, and renewable thereafter for a further six-year period. This provides Library membership and the continued use of your email account.

Please note that these cards are issued by Human Resources, and not the Library. Lost or damaged cards should be reported to IT Services, either by phone (ext.2532) or by email (idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk).

Students

Lost, stolen or damaged cards

If your University ID card has been lost, stolen or damaged please report it through MySaint or email: idcards@st-andrews.ac.uk . Once you report a card lost/stolen/damaged a block will be placed on your Library account. Please remember that it is vital that you report any loss or theft and that, until a report is made, any material borrowed with your ID card remains your responsibility.

Please note that if your card is stolen between 5.00pm on a Friday and 9.00am on a Monday you should also notify the University Library in addition to contacting IT Services staff. Please report your lost card to the Library Service Desk (01334 462331/2).
