Russell Cawthorn (WWI) Collection
The Library is very fortunate in having recently received a significant collection of material on World War I and related conflicts, deposited by John Cawthorn on behalf of the 1926 Foundation. It includes primary source material as well as current publications, and aims to cover both the more mainstream aspects of World War I, such as the Western Front, and associated conflicts including the Russian Revolution and ensuing Civil War, the Polish-Soviet War, and conflicts in Turkey.
This extensive and growing collection of books and periodicals makes an important addition to the works the Library already holds and will form the centre of a subject collection relating usefully to both existing holdings in the Main Library's print collections and to material in the Special Collections Department.
The Library would be pleased to hear from any scholar interested in working with this material. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Titles are listed in SAULCAT as they are added to the collection and in most cases items are openly available in the Main Library. Some more valuable material will be accessible through Special Collections.
Further information about the collection is available on The Russell Cawthorn Collection website.
