Jennifer Louden

Jennifer joined the University Library in 2015 and was appointed as Deputy Director in August 2020. She supports the Director in the effective management of and access to the physical and digital collections of the Library and Museums units. Her responsibilities include library digital systems and resources, a remit which encompasses systems, finance, acquisitions, metadata and library core collections.

Prior to her appointment, Jennifer was Head of Libraries and Learning Technologies at City of Glasgow College where she led the integration of systems, services and teams following a three-way merger of city centre colleges. She was also responsible for driving the planning for library spaces in the college’s new £228m campus buildings. She has over 20 years’ experience of managing information, library and IT services in education and commercial environments. She is a chartered librarian and holds an MA in English, Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Glasgow, an MSc in Library and Information Studies from the University of Strathclyde and an MSc in Electronic Business from Glasgow Caledonian University.
