Please read the Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all computers submitted to the PC Clinic. Please read them carefully. They do not affect your statutory rights.

We may change these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect on the date they are posted onto the site. You will be asked to read and accept the terms and conditions each time you fill out an online form, to ensure that you are familiar with the most current ones.

After you submit an online form we will give you a Reference Number associated with the problem that you have reported to us. You will receive this as an email to your St Andrews email account as given on the online form. Please note that this email is an acknowledgement and does not imply that we have agreed to deal with the problem you have reported to us.

When deciding whether or not  we can undertake work on your equipment we will use the information that has been supplied on the online form, including any recent history that is known to us regarding your computer. Should we agree to take on your case, we will contact you by phone or email and arrange a time for your computer to be dropped off at the IT Service Desk.

Our aim is to ensure that all work is of a high standard and will try in all cases to find a suitable resolution to problems reported to us. In cases where resolution or repair is not possible, information will be given to advise you of an applicable course of action.

This service is subject to availability of staff and resources within the department; we cannot guarantee that this service will be available to students and staff for the entire academic year and reserve the right to change and modify the service at any point throughout the year. These changes however will only apply to new cases; those already accepted for work by the PC Clinic will be bound by the intention of work set out at the time of delivery of your computer equipment.

Our IT Staff will do an informal inspection of your computer once it arrives with us in the designated work space in order to record the state in which the computer was received by our staff. Although we will take every care to look after your computer while it is with us we will be unable to fund further repair or compensate users in instances where components fail completely or deteriorate while the computer is in our care.
