Connecting to the University's visitor wireless network

The University has entered into a partnership with BT to deliver the BT Wi-Fi service throughout the campus for those who have no legitimate access to our educational network, eduroam

If you have an @st-andrews.ac.uk University account, connect to eduroam with your username and password. If you're visiting from another organisation which uses it, you can also connect. Your password for your online identity is provided to you by your ‘home’ institution – where you are enrolled in study or are employed.

How to connect to BT Wi-Fi

  1. Choose BT Wi-fi from the list of available wifi networks.
  2. Open a browser and a University of St Andrews login page should appear automatically.
  3. Follow the instructions to get online.

In line with industry best practice, BT Wi-fi will automatically log out after 15 minutes of inactivity, to avoid congesting the network. To start using the service again, just repeat the steps above.
