Email and computer accounts

The basis for using email and other computer-based services in the University is your computer account (also known as your email account), for which the University provides you with a username and password. This gives you access to email, central filespace, and a wide range of information and services, in the University and elsewhere.

This section gives you information on how to set up and use your computer account, and how to set up and use email at the University of St Andrews.

  • if you are a new 2016-17 undergraduate or postgraduate student, please see information about the new Office365 service, powered by Microsoft.
  • if you are an existing undergraduate or postgraduate student, please see information about the existing SaintMail service, powered by Google.
  • if you are a member of staff, then your email and calendar services has being migrated to the new Office365 service, powered by Microsoft .
