Fife Inter Faith Group

In addition to being a networking member of the diverse cultural organisation FRAE Fife, the University is also a networking member of the Fife Inter Faith Group. Facilitated by Fife Council's Equality Unit, the group's partial aim is to create community cohesion initiatives by bringing together congregations of local diverse faiths.

The 'Fife Peace Garden' in Kirkcaldy's Beveridge Park was officially opened in May 2012 and attended by representatives of the many faith groups. The E&D Officer supported local faith communities by being nominated to represent their views on 'Kingdom FM' promoting the safe uses of the garden.

As part of an EIA, the Fife Inter Faith Group provided their feedback to the E&D Officer on the University’s draft online 'Inclusive Curriculum Toolkit' presented at the interfaith meeting held at Kirkcaldy Mosque on 14 May 2013.

In collaboration with the Chaplaincy and the University Inter Faith Group, the E&D Officer is planning to facilitate:

'Fife Inter Faith Group meeting' at the University in the Autumn (2013), more details to follow.

The aim is to "Foster good relations between different beliefs" as part of our legal equality duties.
