Special Subjects

The Special Subjects are the culmination of an undergraduate’s historical studies, and involve an exploration in considerable depth of a period or topic with a close study of documentary sources. They are year-long 60-credit modules, each with a small number (usually 4-7) of students, who meet weekly, usually on Wednesday morning. In addition to any elements of continuous assessment, they normally have two exams in May, with strong emphasis on original documents and sources.
