Facilities

The School of History occupies three sites all within a few minutes walk of each other and all in the heart of the historic town of St Andrews.

St Katharine's Lodge is a nineteenth century former school near the seafront, the New Arts Building next door was opened in 2006, and on tree-lined South Street are Mediaeval History and St John's House.

  • Undergraduate students will have tutorials, seminars and individual meetings with tutors in these buildings which also contain the administrative offices for history and information boards for History students.

  • Lectures are held in larger halls within easy reach of these buildings.

  • History students also make full use of the library provision in St Andrews. The University Library has both resources and workspace for undergraduate historians; it is sited very close to the History buildings.
