Alexander Bell lived as a Scottish burgess in Danzig in 1642. Andrew was the son of John Bell of Balmyle (by Coupar Angus) and Catherine Blair. His birthbrieve of 20 May 1637 was avowed by Captian Alexander Blair (age 65) and James Halyburton ( age 53). 1637.T. Fischer, The Scots in Eastern and Western Prussia (Edinburgh, 1903), p.195.
