John/Hans Chalmers/Chambers is listed as a Scottish burgess in Danzig in 1621, from Edinburgh. He may be the same man who was in favour with King Sigismund III of Poland and formed part of a Scottish mercantile community who moved with the king from Cracow to Warsaw at this time. He may be the same man as listed by Fischer as being resident in Warsaw or Crakow in 1651
