John Dallachy initially served in Danzig along with his colonel, William Stewart. In 1578, he transferred with his regiment into service under the Prince of Orange and was made a lieutenant-colonel. He was either dead or had temporarily departed service by 19 April 1581, when he was replaced by Captain Leslie. Ferguson contends that he was killed at Bommel in 1599.
