Text source
William Cockburn, Baron of Temple was a Scottish nobleman who served as a voluntary soldier at the siege of Bergen-op-Zoom in 1622. It is possible that William Cockburn was one of the Cockburns of Langton and, if so, was most likely the Sir William Cockburn who was made a baronet in 1627 (Cockburn Records, p. 48).
