FRENCH, ANNEKEN [SSNE 8095]

Anneken French was the wife of Philip Roberts [SSNE 8094] who served as a soldier in the Anglo-Dutch Brigade. On 10 March 1640, she and he baptised their child in Bergen-op-Zoom in the Dutch Reformed Church. Given the location and date this probably places Philips under the command of Sir Charles Morgan [SSNE 89]. He is certainly noted as being in the company of Captain Huntly [SSNE 8096].
