WATSE, WILLEM [SSNE 7994]
Text source
William Watson was a Scot serving in the Dutch Republic in 1610. He had previously served in Captain John Gordon's [SSNE 7993] company in the garrison at Steenbergen, but when the company was disbanded in October 1609, he found employment as a sailor under Captain Cleijn Aeryaen. On 7 April 1610 he authorized fellow Scot, David Johnson, to pay 70 guilders on his behalf, which he owed for the victualing of his previous company.
