Anne Morgan was daughter and heir to Sir Charles Morgan [SSNE 89]. She was born in the Netherlands and died in Chelsea 1688. She married Sir Lewis Morgan (d. 1635) of Rhiwperra, Monmouthshire, and second Walter Strickland (1598?–1671) the ambassador of Parliament from 1642 to 1651. In the 1650s she played a role in Anglo-Dutch relations as an intermediary. On 18 February 1651 she was naturalised by the parliamentary ordinance. And calling herself Lady Morgan, she made an independent visit to Holland in June 1652 promoting the English Parliamentarian cause. Her third marriage was to John Milborne of Wonaston, Monmouthshire.
