Text source

James Watson (the elder), became a burgess in Stockholm on 28 August 1660. The records of Nikolai Kyrka reveal that between 1663 and 1671, five children were baptised, two called Wellam (24 February and 21 October 1663), two called Jakob (9 November 1664 and 17 July 1665) and one called Elizabeth (25 March 1671). The repeat names and nearness of dates suggest some were either premature or did not survive for long. Young David baptised by 'Jakob Watz' in 1662 was probably also a son of this man. One of his sons named William [SSNE 8487] entered the tobacco trade.

James Watson died in 1678 and was buried in Riddarhus Kyrka on 8 May 1678
