Peter David Scot [Petrus David de Scotia] lived ca. 1450-1520. He was born ca. 1450 in Aberdeen. He went abroad at an early age to continue his education. He matriculated at Cologne University in 1467, where he achieved his baccalaureat in 1468, followed by a lic. art in 1470. He became a mag. art in 1477. He formed part of the first group of instructors brought in to the newly established Copenhagen University in 1479. First he taught in the Philosophy faculty, then in the Theology faculty. In 1479 he was made a deacon in the Philosophy faculty, and also a "baccalaur" in Theology. He got his lic. Theology in 1487, and in 1498 he was promoted Doctor of Theology. He served 6 times as the rector of Copenhagen University. Paulus Helie and Morten Boerup have both left descriptions of Peter David's character. In 1495 he formed part of King Han's delegation to Russia. Whilst there he served as a Latin teacher to the Tsar's messenger, Gregorius Isthoma. He died on 24 July 1520 in Copenhagen and is buried in Vor Frue church there.
