Text sourceWilliam Butchell, the eldest son of Thomas Butchell, baillie of Crail, was a merchant trading in Stockholm in the seconed half of the seventeenth century. A resignation, dated 1670, in favour of James Brugh, merchant burges of Crail and his wife, Margaret Millar, concerns four acres of ground that once belonged to the church at Crail.
