JAMIESON, JOHN [SSNE 7361]
Text source
A Scot named John Jamieson was in Stockholm in 1572. That year, in October, he appears before the Stockholm magistrates requesting that he not be separated from his wife, Margareta, widow of the late Philpus goldsmith. There was an ongoing situation which involved another Scot named Hans Thomas Jungh, currently imprisoned, who was apparently courting her. John Jamieson denied having complained about Margareta or Jungh. Similarly Thomas Jungh claimed he was innocent of whatever he had been accused of. The magistrates decided that neither man (both noted as Scotsmen) should have anything to do with Margareta until the situation had been investigated by the church consistory court, and that Margareta should be called to appear at the town house when the magistrates next sat.
