SCOTT, OLOF [SSNE 7348]

Olof Scott was a son of William Scott [SSNE 7347], and brother of James [SSNE 1638] and Robert [SSNE 7349]. He was born in 1572 in Scotland, as his parents did not emigrate to Sweden until 1601. This would suggest that "Olof" was a name he adopted in his new environment. Olof married a daughter of Scott of Buccleugh. Olof's son Joran Olofson Scott [SSNE 3437] became ennobled in Sweden in 1645 by the name of Pistolekors. Olof died in 1613.
NB. The Scottish origin of Olof and his son is disputed.
