MUIR, ALEXANDER [SSNE 7287]
Text source
Alexander Muir was a Scottish ship's captain who lived in Stockholm in the early 17th century. He was married to Margaret Westoun [SSNE 8356]. In March 1614 the Stockholm consistory records that they testified to the fact that Anna Alexandersdotter (presumably Muir's daughter [SSNE 8357]) had been lawfully promised to the Scottish nobleman, "Hans Lumstelt" (probably John/Iain Lumsden). They provided a signed document (noted as being in Scots) containing the signatures of James Fernie [SSNE 2194], James Drummond, William "Dusin" and James Humble amongst others. Cf.[SSNE 5061]
