Lars Young was noted amongst the citizens of Gothenburg in 1639. His occupation was given as hatmaker. He may be the same man as Lorentz Jung who appeared on the Gothenburg shipping registers between 1655-1677. During those years Lorentz Jung in 1655 shipped goods to Scotland, and more specifically Anstruther; and to Dundee in 1656. Dalhede lists that individual as separate from another Lorentz Jung who sent goods to Helsingor in 1659; to Scotland, Hull, Calais, and Newcastle in 1660; and to Lubeck, Stralsund and Hamburg in 1661. Dalhede also lists a third Lorentz Jungh who traded with Konigsberg in 1667; Holbeck and "Euser" i 1668; Stockholm in 1671; Hamburg and Dundee in 1675 and Anstruther in 1677. They were probably the same people. He was possibly a relative of James Young [SSNE 7207] and/or Alexander Young [SSNE 7164].
