James Kendall was a Scottish skipper who operated in Scandinavia in the mid 1680s. On 11 July, Patrick Thomson [SSNE 6475] said to Andrew Russell that he had heard no word of Kendall being near the Sound although he had ordered him to come to Sweden. By 18th of that month, Thomson wrote Russell again informing him he was of a mind to deal with Kendall and send him homeward carrying deals. According to a further letter of 26 August, Kendall left Sweden along with William Jaffray [SSNE 7190] on 12th of that monthNational Archives of Scotland, Russell Papers, RH15/106/514.
