Mr Arthur was part of the joint stock company run by Andrew Russell [SSNE 143] and Patrick Thomson [SSNE 6475]. He was based in the Danzig region and gave advice to John Gib Younger [SSNE 7072] when his ship became stranded in Heyligona in September 1687-May 1688. He also laid out some cash in the salvage operation and had connections with James Adie [SSNE 7080] in Danzig.
