George Ferguson was a Scot in Stockholm in 1683. On 21 September that year he wrote a letter to Andrew Russell [SSNE 143] in Rotterdam to let him know that he had drawn 100 rixdaler on Russell payable in Amsterdam upon Mr James Harper at one month's sight. The rixdaler were received in Stockholm on John Buyre's account and on James Currie, late baillie in Perth. Currie and Buyre along with William Patton (all in Perth) had commissioned a young man, Robert Anderson [SSNE 7137] to go to Stockholm with their goods, and it is for that purpose that Ferguson required the moneyNational Archives of Scotland, Russell Papers, RH15/106/494. 21 September 1683.
