James Campbell was a Scottish merchant located in Hamburg on 23 November 1680. He informed Andrew Russell [SSNE 143] in Rotterdam that a ship bound for Hamburg was lost on the island of Heligoland. The crew could not save her, but the loading of cables. anchors, rigging, masts and other goods were safe on the island. He sought Russell's advice on how to proceed with the matter
