Sergeant Major John Paulett enlisted as the captain for a company in the army of James Marquis Hamilton [SSNE 1348] destined for Swedish service in June 1630. He was allowed to recruit in Southampton, Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset. He was captured by Croats on 1 November 1632 along with Lieutenant Colonel Francis Terret and Captain Edward Fielding
