An undated memorandum from Leslie to Chalmers (probably from 1655) requests Chalmers to act on Leslie's behalf in his attempt to raise a regiment for King Karl X at his own expense. Chalmers was to obtain a commission from Karl for Leslie to recruit, with a letter of mark, and to obtain further letters for Oliver Cromwell and Lord Fleetwood.
