LENCK, RICHARD [SSNE 6693]
Text source
Richard Lenck had apparently been in Swedish service circa 1626-27 during Sweden's war with Poland. He had defected to the Polish army in 1627, possibly after capture. However, in November 1630 Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna noted that Lenck had appeared in Elbing and had been apprehended by the Swedes. Oxenstierna was now waiting on further instructions from the King. Regarding this man's nationality, as there were other Lencks in Swedish service who were Scots it is not unreasonable to suggest that he too was Scottish
