In 1636 Johan Nizeht [Nietzeht] served as a colonel in the service of William V. landgrave of Hesse-Cassel and operated in Hoexter (Westphalia) from the 2 of June until the 17 of August. He abandoned the town with his troops, when the Imperial field-marshal Johann von Götz approached, and went to Holzminden (Lower Saxony]. Nizeht probably went to the Swedish army after the death of William V. (1637). A  "John Nisbeth" served as a colonel serving in the Swedish army from 1638 to 1640 and it may be this man, or a conflation with a Scottish officer.
