Roloff Mackay was the son of Isaac Mackay snr [SSNE 4936], who was a factory owner in Sweden in the 1670s-1690s. In the late 1680s Roloff lived at Lögdö, one of his father's mining complexes in Gästrikland. A probable relative, Anna Mackey (his sister?) [SSNE 6437], died on 31 October 1704, and was buried on 6 December the same yearG.
