William Lamb was an Englishman who traded with Norway. In April 1646 he delivered 86 lasts of coal at 12 rigsdaler a last, and he wanted to take timber out of Norway in exchange. As he was sailing to Denmark in May with papers from the English admiralty, but he was forced to return to Norway and appealed to King Christian IV of Denmark-Norway to help him. The king wanted the authorities in Norway to sort out the affairNorske Rigsregistranter, vol.8 (1884), pp.402, 404.
