Gilbert Meldrum was a merchant trading out of Dieppe, France. In April 1583 he and his partner David Fellisen [SSNE] paid for the right to sail their ship La Louise, north of Norway to Vardohus and Lapland and back again. The exact trade to be done with the Sami is unrecorded.
