John Drummond esq was a merchant of Amsterdam at the end of the seventeenth and start of the eighteenth centuries. He was both a director of the East India Company (apparently the first Scot to hold that position) and of the Royal African Company as well as being a burgess of Perth. He served in Queen Anne's parliament and through her he gained a commission for the commercial aspects of the Treaty of Utrecht. Despite nearly being declared bankrupt, Drummond repaid his debts to the EIC.
