According to Elgenstierna Catharina Spalding was a daughter of John Spalding [SSNE 4677] and his second wife, Ingeborg Danielsdotter, and she was born on 1 December 1656. She was ennobled as Spalding and married on 13 April 1675 with Mayor Hans von Gerdes. Her sisters were Elizabeth [SSNE 6413], Johanna [SSNE 6414], Margareta [SSNE 6415] and Anna [SSNE 6416] while her brothers were President of Commerce, Gabriel Spalding [SSNE 4816] and Swedish trade commissioner in Dunkirk, Johan [SSNE 4941]. Catharina died in 1698 at the age of 41 and was buried on 27 November that year. Eduard Spalding confuses her as a daughter of her brother Johan!
