Susan Balfour was a daughter of Sir William Balfour of Pitcullo. She became the second wife of Hugo Hamilton [SSNE 2582], Colonel and Baron de Deserf in Sweden, and first Baron Hamilton of Glenawly, Co. Fermanagh. They married after 11 May 1659 and lived in Ireland after 1662. It is not clear if they married in Sweden or Ireland
