In 1603 a Richard Thomson, citizen and merchant of Posen appeared as a witness at court in Cracow, regarding the private guilds of the Scottish merchants in Poland. He also testified to the fact that a Scot called Kilian (this may have been Kilian Henderson or Kilian Buchan, both noted as members of the Scottish community) borrowed 40 Polish zloty from another Scot Jan Furman of Lublin.
