Alexander Reid/Ryd was one of the 8 Scottish merchants appointed by King August 2 to serve the Polish court on 4 October 1697. He was also one of the merchants who had lost their workshops in Warsaw, and on whose behalf King August 2 ordered the town councillors to restore the shops. Reid died by 11 May 1720 as then Alexander Innes took over his position as one of the 8 royal merchants
