In 1621 John Clark provided a birthbrieve from Aberdeen dated 4 April 1621, took the oath, paid 40 florins, one stone of gunpowder, and a musket in order to become a citizen of Cracow. He also promised to acquire land in Cracow within the year or to marry, under penalty of the loss of his civic rightsA.F.
