In 1625 James Carmichael summoned two Scots, James Leslie from Dundee and Robert Aucstenleg(Auchinleck?) of Gostyn to verify that he was the son of Robert and Margaret Karmichael of Dundee who were married according to the rites of the Roman Catholic church. There are two dates offered for Carmichael becoming a burgess of Cracow: 5 and 10 December 1625. He presented his genealogy, took the oath and paid 20 (?) Hungarian gold pieces on 5 December along with fellow Scot Peter Wood [SSNE 5078], and they both promised that one of them would supply a long gun, or musket and a stone of gunpowder. They also agreed that one of them would marry, or acquire land withint the year. William Peterson and George Emsle [SSNE 5094] bound themselves as security. See also [SSNE 5462]
